World Book Day 2025
World Book Day is an important event in our school calendar. We had an amazing day promoting and celebrating our love of reading. Thank you to the adults who attended our Big Read/Stay and Play yesterday. The children enjoyed reading with you as well as getting to spend all day in their pyjamas!
World Book Day isn’t just a random day to remember. Nearly 1 million children in the UK don’t have a book of their own. Spreading the importance of reading is vital for children to grow up in a happy and fulfilling environment.
The day started with our Bookfast and the opportunity for children to spend quality time sharing stories. Families in nursery enjoyed time playing and reading with their children too.
Next we hosted our very own ‘Masked Reader’ with special guest appearances from Dinosaur and Alien, who read to the children live in assembly before the usual chants of ‘take it off’!
Later in the day, children performed a poem (see below) before swapping classes to read with other children across the school.
It was a fabulous day!
