Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium is a grant given by the government to schools in England to improve the attainment of disadvantaged children.

Primary schools are given Pupil Premium for:

  • children who are, or have ever been, entitled to free school meals based on their family income
  • children in care
  • children previously in local authority care who have been adopted
  • children recorded as being from service families
